Man, I had a lot of trouble coming up with a headline for this post. Partly because I'm out of practice, and partly because I didn't know what to say.
On the one had, I am really looking forward to seeing what Prisoners and The Arrival director Denis Villeneuve does with this follow up to the sci-fi classic. On the other hand, the whole project is a bit worrying, as Blade Runner didn't really need a sequel.
And there's the elephant in the room: as much as I like Blade Runner, I don't love it like most nerds do. It's OK, but I can't watch it over and over again. It's just, well, aight.
Now that I've lost more than half our audience, here's the latest -- and I assume final -- trailer for Blade Runner 2049. Enjoy.
Thing is, I think this looks really good. Like, really, really good! Maybe some more action, which will probably turn off purist, but I'm OK with that. Fuck purists. I'm also digging what Ryan Gosling is bringing to his part. Ditto Jared Leto.
And hey, Harrison Ford is back. Word is we find out if he's a replicant or not. I think he is, by the way.
We'll find out the answers to these and other mysteries when Blade Runner 2049 lands Oct. 6.
