Here's something us Basementites don't get to talk about all that often -- podcasts! Which is funny given that we're, you know, a podcast.
And fans of Doctor Who and Sherlock Holmes will be delighted -- that's right, I said delighted -- to know the characters join forces in a new series of podcasts called Doctor Who: Dark Journey.
Dark Journey is a four-part audio-adventure series merging the best of classic Who and NuWho with a darker edge. The episodes feature music by the U.K. prog-rock band Traffic Experiment and the vocal talent of Andrew Chalmers as The Doctor and Roy Miranda as Holmes. That's them pictured above.
Word has it Chalmers is a fan of our show, which instantly makes him our new best friend.
Dark Journey doesn't just mix Doctor Who and the World's Greatest Detective. Oh no. Check out the official synopsis: a recently regenerated and emotionally shattered Doctor arrives in London and becomes the companion to Sherlock Holmes. The duo initially team up to stop Jack the Ripper's murderous trail of terror, but could there be an even greater evil at work in Victorian England?
The series is produced by Toronto-based AM Audio Media. Episodes appear every Saturday at 5:30 p.m. EST on Soundcloud and iTunes.
Yeah, this sounds like fun. We're gonna check it out, and strongly encourage all of you to do the same.
