No one will argue the low-budget, independent film market is glutted with horror flicks. The genre is a quick and easy way to break into moviemaking. So it's refreshing when a filmmaker tries something different, something a little more ambitious.
Christian Grillo is just such a writer/director, and next month his sci-fi/noir thriller Apocalypse Kiss debuts on DVD and VOD.
The flick follows Adrian, a serial killer with OCD, who fights for his place in the media when two nomadic lesbians get the credit for his murders. Now THAT sounds original!
We recently interviewed Christian about his movie and how he got this ambitious project off the ground. Not only did he create a futuristic world for next to nothing, he recruited genre faves Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes) and Tom Atkins (The Fog, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, Night of the Creeps).
You can hear our interview with Christian later this month, and then catch Apocalypse Kiss when it lands on April 8. We'll be checking it out for sure.
