Which should come as no surprise. There's no way modern Hollywood business types, AKA sissies, would take a chance with an R-rated RoboCop. The modern film business is all about putting asses in seats, and the best way to do that is go PG-13.
Granted, most PG-13 movies are more violent than the R-rated movies of the 80s, but I doubt we'll see a dude get melted by toxic waste or another dude shot to pieces by ED-209. Sigh.
Jose Padilha's RoboCop carries a PG-13 rating for intense sequences of action including frenetic gun violence throughout, brief strong language, sensuality and some drug material.
What's it about again? In 2028 Detroit, when Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) -- a loving husband, father and good cop -- is critically injured in the line of duty, the multinational conglomerate OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer.
Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson and Gary Oldman co-star. The flick lands Feb. 12.
