And eventually, westerns come back around for popularity. With movies like "The Lone Ranger" and "Django Unchained" kicking things off, we can expect several more six shooter specials to hit theatres. Once such entry is "Dead in Tombstone" starring Mickey Rourke as none other than Satan.
Roel Reine is directing this movie from a script by Shane Kuhn and Brendan Cowles, while Mike Elliott is the producer.
The synopsis I've read seems interesting... kinda mixes in my love of horror with my love of westerns:
"Guerrero Hernandez, is the leader of the Blackwater Gang of outlaws. But after freeing his half-brother, Red, from prison, Guerrer's plan to loot the mining town of Edendale backfires spectacularly, when he is double crossed by his half-sibling. After making a deal with the Devil, Guerrero comes back from the dead a year later to seek his revenge. The town, which has presciently been renamed Tombstone will soon have its dusty streets running knee-deep in a river of blood."
"Dead in Tombstone" stars Danny Trejo (Con Air, Machete, Desperado) as Guerrero Hernandez, Anthony Michael Hall (The Breakfast Club, Six Degrees of Seperation, Freddy Got Fingered) as his half-brother, and as mentioned above, Mickey Rourke as the Devil.
I have to admit, the trailer below makes me WANT to see this movie... even if it didn't have Trejo, Hall, and Rourke in it:
