Basement contributor Matt Bellamy has taken it upon himself to watch and
review at least one horror movie a day for
the month of October . . . because he's awesome that way! And on the sixth day he asked, why Spider-Man?
Oh Sam Raimi, forget superhero franchises and big-budget blockbusters, stick to horror, it's what you do best! From the director of the Evil Dead series, and Darkman, comes this return to form for a man who got his feet wet within this genre, and he totally owns it once more! Seriously, how much fun is this movie? It'll make you jump one minute and then burst out laughing the next which is how I like my horror flicks, scary and disturbing with a healthy amount of absurd and hilarious mixed in. It's about a young woman who is cursed by an aging gypsy, the curse will torment her for a few days before literally dragging her body, kicking and screaming, down to hell -- don't mess around with gypsies! This is such a manic, and off the wall film, if you're looking for something more serious then this is not the flick for you but if you have a twisted sense of humour then you cannot go wrong here!
